People do not live in one setting. The most suitable MIPACE device for a normal working day may be different from the one used while cycling, travelling or taking part in an activity. The useful part is that those devices do not need separate versions of your information.
The profile and the device are different things
Your profile contains the information you choose to make available. A MIPACE device provides a route to that profile. When more than one device is linked to the same profile, each one opens the same current public information. Updating the profile updates what those linked devices show.
Choose access points for real situations
A carried card may suit a wallet or purse. A sticker may suit an item that is normally with you. Another form may be more appropriate for sport or travel. The decision should be practical: where will the device be easy to find, and is that placement suitable for the item and activity?
Name devices so they make sense later
Once an assigned device has been activated, give it a clear name in My MIPACE. “Blue cycling helmet” or “Work ID holder” is more useful than “Sticker 2”. Clear names make it easier to identify the correct device if one is lost, stolen or no longer used.
Review the profile, not every object
The main maintenance task is keeping the linked profile accurate. Review contact details, communication wording, assistance information and public visibility. If a device is lost or stolen, use the device controls in My MIPACE rather than trying to rebuild the profile.
Please note: MIPACE supports access to information. It does not provide medical advice, replace professional assessment, emergency services, safeguarding procedures or the safety arrangements appropriate to an activity or setting.
