Clubs and activity groups often bring together changing volunteers, unfamiliar venues and participants with different communication or assistance needs. MIPACE can offer a consistent route to selected information, but it needs a clear place within the club’s existing procedures.
Begin with a practical scenario
Consider when a coach or volunteer might genuinely need the information. It could be during an off-site activity, when a participant is distressed, or when the usual parent or leader is not immediately available. Use that scenario to decide whether a device and profile add value.
Keep the participant involved
Adults and young people should understand what the device does and where it will be carried or attached. Parents or guardians control child profiles, but participants should be involved in wording and privacy decisions wherever appropriate.
Make volunteer guidance short
Explain how to access the profile, what sort of information may appear and which existing club procedure comes next. MIPACE should not ask a volunteer to diagnose a situation or ignore emergency and safeguarding processes.
Plan for equipment and membership changes
Club-owned devices need an inventory and a process for return, replacement and reassignment. Do not assume that a device should remain connected when a participant leaves a team or moves to another group.
Please note: MIPACE supports access to information. It does not provide medical advice, replace professional assessment, emergency services, safeguarding procedures or the safety arrangements appropriate to an activity or setting.
