What happens if a MIPACE device is lost or needs replacing?

The practical difference between controlling a device and maintaining the profile behind it.

MIPACE Knowledge Hub

Losing a physical device can feel as though all the setup work has gone with it. In MIPACE, the profile and the access device are separate, so the response is focused on the missing item rather than rebuilding the person’s information.

Identify the correct device

Open Devices in My MIPACE and use the device name to identify the missing card, sticker or other item. This is why descriptive names such as “School bag tag” or “Black cycling helmet” are helpful.

Use the lost or stolen control

After activation, the device can be reported lost or stolen through its controls. Follow the current on-screen instructions. If you are unsure which device is missing or cannot access the account, contact MIPACE support rather than guessing.

The profile remains available to you

The personal profile belongs to the account and is not stored as a separate editable copy on the physical device. You can continue to review it and use it with other active linked devices.

A replacement is a new access point

A replacement device can be prepared and assigned through the normal MIPACE process. When it arrives, activate the already-assigned pending device in My MIPACE and link or use it as instructed. Test the public result before relying on it.

Please note: MIPACE supports access to information. It does not provide medical advice, replace professional assessment, emergency services, safeguarding procedures or the safety arrangements appropriate to an activity or setting.
