Keeping a profile useful as routines and needs change

A straightforward review routine for information that may change across home, school, work, health and activities.

A profile can be perfectly accurate when it is created and slowly become less useful. The answer is not constant editing. It is having a small number of sensible review triggers.

Review after meaningful change

A new phone number, medication change, school transition, new activity, different communication method or change in trusted contacts should prompt a review. If nothing has changed, a periodic check is still worthwhile.

Remove as well as add

Profiles tend to grow. Old instructions can remain after they stop helping, and several similar statements can hide the one that matters. During each review, ask what can be removed, shortened or combined.

Check the public view

Do not rely only on the editing screen. Tap or scan an active device and read the public page in order. Is the most important point easy to notice? Are contact details correct? Does the wording still sound respectful and current?

Use one profile across linked devices

When several active devices link to the same profile, you update the information once. There is no need to edit a card, sticker or wristband separately. Device-specific actions such as renaming or reporting a device lost are handled under Devices in My MIPACE.
